Hobbitish Color Suggestions:

hobbitish colors

  • Vivid natural colors all work well, especially shades of green, yellow, copper, white and blue. Think of a bright summer day in the English countryside! Copper, silver and gold all work well.

Hobbitish Style Cues:

  • 18th-19th century inspired designs. Designs of a pastoral nature.
  • Think natural – leaves, ivy, twigs and branches, berries, birds, butterflies, wheat.
  • Rustic and pastoral
  • Circular designs
  • Arts & Craft style designs

Hobbitish Floral Suggestions:

  • Wildflowers would work wonderfully (as would cut flowers) aranged in a hand-tied bouquet.

Hobbitish Gown Styles:

  • 18th-19th century inspired designs. Corsets
  • Renaissance peasant designs, to some degree
  • Fabrics: velvet, velveteen, silk, eyelet, lace, cotton, wool, linen. Certain printed fabric may work as well – paisley, tartan plaids, tiny stripes for example. Simply embroidered fabrics could be great, too! Smocking is good. Soft leather in moderation could work as well.
  • Use of ribbons also seems really appropriate for a hobbit wedding.

Hobbitish Jewelry:

  • Do hobbits even wear much jewelry? Not sure, but keep it simple, simple, simple.
  • A simple ribbon tied around the neck is very pretty. A charm would look lovely hanging from the ribbon.

rosieHobbitish Hair:

  • Curls of any length are wonderful. No overly sophisticated updo’s.

Hobbitish Headpieces/Veils:

  • Wreaths of flowers appear to be the best and only choice! (IMHO)
  • For veils I don’t know that they are really necessary, but perhaps a small, shoulder-length veil could be attached at the back of the head.
